| This is a lightning-caused fire that is being managed for resource benefits. The fire was discovered Sept. 3 by a forest visitor. It is located about five miles southwest of Jacob Lake and about half a mile northwest of Fracas Lake. District fire management personnel have mapped a planned management area of about 2,000 acres of largely ponderosa pine but do not expect the fire to complete the treatment area before seasonal moderating weather conditions set in. The burn units are bordered on the north by Forest Road 262C, on the east by Forest Road 282, on the south by Forest Road 212 and on the west by Forest Road 640. |
